You are a monk tasked with protecting sacred stones in a temple. Driven by fear of punishment, you vigilantly guard the stones every day. However, one day, curiosity gets the best of you, and you decide to leave the temple to explore the outside world. After years of faithfully fulfilling your duty, your fear of punishment has diminished.

You return the next day, but something feels off. Despite the passage of time, the sky remains unnaturally dark. Finally, after what seems like an eternity, the being who entrusted you with the stones contacts you.

"It seems you have neglected your duty for a day," the being says. "As punishment, I curse you and your temple to eternal despair. You will become immortal, and evil spirits will haunt your stones forever. If you fail to protect them, you will face an eternity of excruciating torture."
